Our story

  1. Oneevening

    Mom

    Mom asks a question

Our week lived in too many places. The calendar was in one app, rides were buried in text threads, and dinner plans lived in someone's head. Chores were on a sheet of paper on the fridge that nobody could find by Wednesday. So Mom sat down with our two daughters and asked a simple question.

  2. Oneevening

    Mom

A calmer family, not a busier one

She has a gift for seeing the small moments other people miss: the rushed drop-off, the forgotten practice, the night dinner became a scramble. She wanted fewer reminders and more time for each other.

  3. Thatnight

    Older daughter

    “See who's driving me”

Our older daughter wanted to see who was driving her to practice without asking twice.

  4. Thatnight

    Younger daughter

    “Tap my own chores”

Our younger one wanted her chores and points somewhere she could tap them herself.

  5. Thatnight

Mom · Older daughter · Younger daughter

The three of them sketch it

Together, around that table, they sketched what our family really needed: one shared place for the whole week, on our phones and on a tablet in the kitchen.

  6. Sincethen

    Dad

Dad builds it, one screen at a time

We looked at buying a wall screen made for this. Instead we decided to build our own, so it would fit our family and not the other way around. Their dad took the vision the three of them had drawn and turned it into a real app.

  7. Everyweek

Older daughter · Younger daughter · Mom

    The girls test, Mom decides

The girls test every screen and tell us honestly what's confusing. Their mom decides what our family truly needs, and what we can leave out.

  8. Oneday

    The girls run it

One day we hope the girls will run Loom274 themselves.

It started at the kitchen table

Our week lived in too many places. The calendar was in one app, rides were buried in text threads, and dinner plans lived in someone's head. Chores and rewards were on a sheet of paper on the fridge that nobody could find by Wednesday.

One evening, Mom sat down with our two daughters and asked a simple question: “Where does our week actually go?”

She has a gift for seeing the small moments other people miss: the rushed drop-off, the forgotten practice, the night dinner became a scramble. She didn't want a busier family. She wanted a calmer one, with fewer reminders and more time for each other.

The girls had ideas right away. Our older daughter wanted to see who was driving her to practice without asking twice. Our younger one wanted her chores and points somewhere she could tap them herself. Together, around that table, the three of them sketched what our family really needed: one shared place for the whole week, on our phones and on a tablet in the kitchen.

Building it together

We looked at buying a wall screen made for this. Instead we decided to build our own, so it would fit our family and not the other way around.

Their dad took the vision the three of them had drawn and turned it into a real app, one screen at a time. The girls test every screen and tell us honestly what's confusing. Their mom decides what our family truly needs, and what we can leave out. One day we hope the girls will run Loom274 themselves.

Why Loom274

A loom weaves many threads into one strong cloth. A family's week has many threads too: school, practice, meals, chores, church. Woven well, they hold together. The 274 is Psalm 27:4, the verse this all started from:

“One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple.”
Psalm 27:4 (ESV)

David had a kingdom to run, and he asked for one thing. That's our prayer for our home, and for yours. We don't want Loom274 to make families busier. We want it to carry the details, so parents and children have more unhurried time at the table, in the car, and before the Lord.
