How long Loom274 keeps data
Loom274 keeps your family's data only to run your family's hub. A parent can download all of it, or delete all of it, from Settings → Your family's data on their phone.
What Loom274 keeps
- Your family's name, time zone, and each person's name and colour. Kids have no email or birthday in Loom274; a kid's PIN is stored only as a one-way hash.
- What you add: events, rides, chores, points, rewards, menus, notes, groceries and the memory verse.
- An activity log of who changed what (including when the family's data was downloaded), so a parent can see what happened.
- Parents' sign-in emails, and each screen's sign-in.
- The waitlist: an email address and how you heard of Loom274, if you joined it on loom274.app/start. It is deleted after 12 months, or when you ask.
- Problem reports sent from "Report a problem": a number (like P-0007), what you wrote (with emails, phone numbers and keys removed), the screen, and technical details such as the app version and screen size. A report from a wall never names the kid. Screenshots are emailed to the family's admin and never stored in Loom274.
How long
- While your family uses Loom274: what you add, for as long as your family has a Loom274 household. The activity log keeps one year; offline-sync receipts keep 30 days; skipped or cancelled chores that never earned points keep 90 days; screen sign-in codes expire within a day. A problem report keeps its number and status; what you wrote is cleared 180 days after the report is closed.
- When a parent deletes the household: the deletion happens 3 days later, so a mistake can be undone; every parent sees it on Today and either can cancel it. Then every row is deleted, together with every parent's (including an invited parent's) and every screen's sign-in.
- Backups: encrypted nightly backups age out within 30 days, so deleted data is gone from backups within 30 days of deleting it.
- Error reports: crash reports carry no names or message text and are kept for up to 30 days by our error service.
Who else handles your family's data
- Supabase (database and sign-in) and Cloudflare (the app, and the encrypted backups) store it for Loom274; their own logs of requests are kept for a short time.
- Google (the Gemini API) receives the words you type into quick add, only to read them into an event; Loom274 saves nothing until you tap Save. Google may keep API requests for a limited time to detect abuse, under its own terms.
- Resend sends the sign-in emails and problem reports (with any screenshots) and keeps a log of the email address and delivery.
- Google receives your events if you share a Family Hub calendar with Loom274; that calendar is in your account.
- Sentry receives crash reports with no names, messages or emails.
- Railway runs the nightly backup and keep-alive jobs; it stores nothing itself.
What stays with you
- The Family Hub calendar is in your own Google account. Deleting Loom274 stops updates to it; delete the calendar in Google, or stop sharing it with Loom274's service account, if you no longer want it.
- A downloaded export is a file on your device; keep it or delete it as you like.
